Feld sees “certain needs for restructuring” at the IHS. He also cites a change in basic financing by the National Bank (OeNB) as a reason – which the OeNB denies. IHS President Franz Fischler also emphasized yesterday that the basic financing with the Ministry of Finance and the OeNB for 2022 had been “successfully completed”. Feld is a professor at the University of Freiburg: If he left there, he would have lost his pension. Fischler told the “Standard” that they were not prepared to compensate for this.
The IHS has been looking for a new boss since Martin Kocher became Labor Minister in January 2021. Now negotiations are taking place with Guntram Wolff, director of the Bruegel Institute in Brussels. He had already applied in the spring, was part of the three-person proposal, but did not get a chance.
