A large fruit recall campaign by the discounter Penny Markt affects several German federal states: blueberries of certain batches should not be consumed.
An increased phosmet value has been determined in two types of cultural heights that were offered in Penny markets in Germany. It is a non-approved pesticide and insecticide active ingredient that is highly toxic. Two pack sizes of fruit from Port International European Sourcing GmbH, Hamburg are affected.
Under the name Marktliebe Kulturheidberberen and XXL Kulturheidelberries, the berries of Port International European Sourcing GmbH in Penny branches in six German federal states were on offer:
- Baden-Württemberg
- Bavaria, Hesse
- North Rhine-Westphalia
- Rhineland-Palatinate
- Saarland
Recalled fruit must be brought back to the Penny Markt as soon as possible
The following batches of the fruit are called back:
Market love, Cultural Heidelberries200 g
Chargen L-0805 and L-0903 and L-0904
GGN: 4056186196262
Origin Chile, Legacy variety
XXL, Cultural Heidries, 500 G
Chargen L-0903 and L-0904

The discounter strongly advises against the consumption of the affected products. The products that were still in the Penny branches were immediately taken out of sale.
Customers can return the products in the market and receive the purchase price, even without submitting the receipt, Penny Markt writes on his company website.
