There is not and there was no energy policy

“They don’t know if we are going to develop renewable energy in depth, nothing more was done regarding Argentina’s export potential and therefore there was no reduction in internal cost,” he said, while saying that neither ” there are policies to increase the production of hydrocarbons and be able to export”.

Referring to the tariff issue, he indicated that “it is not an energy policy issue” but that it is “a purely and purely economic decision because it is not that the companies that generate the energy are not charging the difference, but rather that they charge it with subsidies paid by the National State from the general income of taxes that are increasingly burdensome”.

Along these lines, he specified that “in 2002 the average cost of a megawatt was 40 dollars and today it is 75”, which is “the product of the madness of not having an energy policy”.

The former head of the energy portfolio explained that having a policy on the matter makes it possible to anticipate “abundance and cost reduction, so that later, if the economic policy decides whether to pay with subsidies or pay for it by the user, it is as low as possible.”

In relation to the alternative that can mean the green hydrogen, indicated that “it is not salvation nor is it smoke” and explained that “it is not extracted naturally like gas, but must be produced because it is not a primary source.”

He also stated that “it is not going to generate an immediate change in the matrix or save costs”, but considered that “it is a long-term export potential.”

Finally, he referred to the result obtained by the rate reduction policy that he implemented in his municipality: “It worked here: we grew 30% in shops, businesses and industries and increased collection from 40% to 90%.”
