Habeck criticized woidke: return to Russian oil wrong
PCK is important for Brandenburg, says state chief Woidke, and under conditions speaks for a return to Russian oil deliveries. The Federal Minister of Economics finds this next to it.
Economic and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habeck considers the openness of Brandenburg’s head of government Dietmar Woidke (SPD) to return to Russian oil for the refinery PCK for the wrong way. “I have to say that Dietmar Woidke, the Prime Minister of Brandenburg, is completely wrong here,” said Habeck on the sidelines of a meeting with the EU Energy Hinisters in Brussels.
Russian aggression is aggression against freedom and life of people in Ukraine, but also against the solidarity system and the liberal democracy in Europe, said Habeck. “We shouldn’t buy Russian fossil energy, and we shouldn’t buy or buy a Russian uranium.”
At the beginning of the month, Woidke had signaled to fundamentally welcoming a possible return to oil from Russia in Schwedt after peace in Ukraine. “Of course I would be happy if we could also enter normal economic relationships with Russia again.” He emphasized that the sanctions moved back to the federal government and was only possible after a peace conclusion, including Ukraine. The oil embargo is a decision at the federal level, flanked by sanctions also at EU level.
