More and more frequently intercepted “potency honey”
Not only some honey, but also chocolates and herbal pastes promise special effects. The dangerous foods fly increased.

Customs are increasingly pulling food from traffic with non -permitted ingredients. The phenomenon showed in customs for the first time in 2022.

There are no nationwide figures for so-called potency honey and Co. A spokeswoman for the Karlsruhe regional council, which is responsible for checking the products intercepted by customs in Baden-Württemberg, reported, for example, that honey-like pastes were examined in 18 cases in the past year. The year before, there were only three processes.
“All products contained the non -declared active ingredient sildenafil and/or tadalafil,” said the spokeswoman. These substances would be used to treat erectile dysfunction in men. However, they should actually only be submitted after submission of a medical prescription.
According to a spokesman, the pharmaceutical investigation at the Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety has been investigating 56 samples of said products since 2023, of which 49 potency -enhancing active ingredients contained. In previous years, such investigations had only been requested. The authority has classified the affected products as a ready -made medicine.
Risks such as side and interactions
The dosage was often missing, said the spokeswoman for the Karlsruhe regional council. “This also involves taking it with a considerable risk of overdose.” The ingredients are not regularly specified for the products. “The composition remains hidden to the consumer and he cannot know the side effects and risks that are associated with taking the product.”
Especially people with previous illnesses on the cardiovascular system threatened serious problems, it said. The combination with certain other drugs such as nitrates and ritonavir from the therapy of HIV infections and AIDS is also dangerous due to significant interactions.
No danger in the supermarket
Honey, herb paste and other “foods”, which are moved with potentiators, are mainly spent from Turkey to Germany, according to the General Colleus of General and come from Turkey, from States in the Middle East or from Malaysia.
