The first Easter holiday wave starts in two weeks. Where most holidaymakers land – and what they pay for sun and relaxation.
Spain is the most popular travel destination during the Easter holidays at the tour operator TUI. 28 percent of vacationers spend their vacation on Spanish beaches, especially in the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands, as the company said.
Turkey follows with 19 percent, especially the Turkish Riviera is popular. Egypt ends up in third place with 13 percent, which offers two top destinations on the Red Sea with Hurghada and Marsa Alam.
What the vacation costs on average
If you book your Easter vacation at TUI, you have an average of ten days on site and spend an average of 3,295 euros. If you still want to travel spontaneously, you can save with last-minute offers. It should be flexible when it comes to departure airport, travel time and destination.
Sun and beach are more in demand than ever, said Tui Germany boss Benjamin Jacobi. “Since the Easter holidays are late this year, many sun destinations on the Mediterranean are already open.” That means a larger selection.
