Comeback for Tupperware: After bankruptcy, a young entrepreneur from France wants to continue the cult brand. There should also be tupper parties in Germany.
What could be better for a fresh fresh start than this youthful face? The only 31 -year -old Frenchman Cédric Meston wants to breathe new life into the dusty cult brand Tupperware. The entrepreneur and investor from Paris announced this week to get the French Tupperware offshoot out of bankruptcy and to celebrate “a big comeback in Europe”.
Specifically, Meston – who not only wants to take over the brand with other investors, but also wants to run as a CEO – are planning a relaunch in five European countries. In addition to France, Belgium, Italy and Poland, Tupperware should also rise in Germany. As early as April, the Tupperware products were back on the market, wrote Meston in the LinkedIn business network. By the end of the year, the goal was to achieve sales of 100 million euros. “It is a fresh start, ambitious and laid out in the long run.”
Tupperware turnover crashed hard
The plastic socket empire, founded in 1946, went bankrupt last September. After the bankruptcy of the US mother group, the European subsidiaries also registered bankruptcy. Sales were discontinued in early 2025. This was preceded by a massive break -in of the business – between 2017 and 2022 alone, the group’s turnover dropped by around one billion dollars to $ 1.3 billion.
Tupperware cited cheap competitor products, the Internet trade and the boom in food delivery services, which was unnecessary for many people. In addition, the company also complained about an increasing “anti-plastic mood” among consumers.
These known companies have filed for bankruptcy
Sausalitos
The Sausalitos restaurant chain has filed for bankruptcy, as was known on March 19. The bankruptcy hits 40 locations nationwide with around 1,000 employees, which the company operates itself. Other shops conducted by franchisees are not directly affected for the time being. The reason for the bankruptcy mentions Sausalitos the persistent decline in the number of guests since Corona pandemic. All restaurants should remain open and an investor who continues the chain. Sausalitos was founded in Ingolstadt in 1994 and is known for Mexican food and cocktails

Revival of the Tupper parties?
With all these challenges, the new European Tupper face Meston will also be struggling. The restart is “based on the strength of our network, the innovation of our products and the modernization of our sales channels,” said Meston on LinkedIn.
In addition, Meston also wants to continue to rely on the famous “tupper parties”. The company had made the concept of privately organized sales parties, in which an independent consultant sold her acquaintance against Tupperware products commission. In his takeover announcement, Meston immediately turned to the more than 20,000 Tupperware consultants, “who endured the uncertainty for weeks and have patiently waited for this announcement and are now back and ready to get started”.
Emmanuel Macron is a fan
Despite his young age in France, Cédric Meston is no unknown entrepreneur. After starting your career at the management consultancy McKinsey, he founded a company for vegan meat substitute products in 2019, which is now called Happyvorue. In 2021, the French Forbes magazine was the company as the leading provider of plant meat alternatives that are manufactured in France-and Meston among the top 30 entrepreneurs under the age of 30.
Last year Meston gave up the company’s management. Since then, he has seen himself as an investor who bought and promote battered companies. On his LinkedIn profile, he describes himself as a serial entrepreneur with the motto: “Revival Isn’t Fixing the Past, It’s About Moving Forward, Stronger and Smarter.”
For the successful revival of Tupperware, Meston also keeps his fan fan. “So many French and Europeans have a tupper can in their closet … and in their hearts!”, None was less than France’s President Emmanuel Macron under Meston’s LinkedIn contribution. “Congratulations on this new adventure. May this relaunch be a synonym for innovation and success.”
