Electric cars are important for climate protection, after all, no CO2 is released when driving. Nevertheless, Stromer does not play a role in the planning of many drivers.
According to a survey, electric cars cannot grow in the race for the favor of customers. According to a Forsa survey on behalf of the Targobank, only 29 percent of the drivers of a combustion engine car still plan to switch to a current or another alternative drive, i.e. hybrid or hydrogen.
The same survey was also 29 percent a year ago, but before that far more drivers: in 2022 the value was 43 percent, in 2023 it was 36 percent. 1,002 adults had taken part in the representative online survey in February, the car.
When deciding against an electric car, the high acquisition price, the too small range and an excessive charging stone network played an important role for the respondents. In addition, many respondents critically noticed that in their view, the lifespan of batteries was limited and the environmental debit was questionable.
When asked what you would buy for a car, almost a third of all petrol engines surveyed indicated (31 percent and therefore unchanged compared to the 2024 survey). A pure electric drive was displaced by 2nd place with an unchanged value of 17 percent, on which hybrid vehicles landed with 19 percent (plus four percentage points). Diesel came to 14 percent (plus one percentage point).
56 percent of those surveyed assumed that electric cars were not more environmentally friendly compared to modern combustion engines. In this aspect, however, some respondents now think about: because the value was one percentage point below that of 2024 and ten percentage points below that from 2023.
