Siemens is increasing in research and development. A lot of money is spent on a US company.
With the US company Dotmatics, Siemens takes over a provider of research and development software in the area of life sciences. The purchase price is $ 5.1 billion, as the Munich announced. Dotmatics will probably generate sales of more than $ 300 million in the 2025 financial year and is highly profitable.
“With the acquisition of Dotmatics, we strategically strengthen our position in the area of life sciences,” said Siemens boss Roland Busch according to the message. According to CFO Ralf Thomas, the financing of the takeover will primarily take place through the sale of shares to listed companies, including Siemens Healthineers.
The news did not cause great excitement among investors. The Siemens share price recently increased by a quarter percent compared to the Xetra closing on the tradegate trading platform. The papers of Siemens Healthineers and Siemens Energy gave up slightly.
