The tariff partners sit down at the negotiating table in Potsdam. Previously, Schlichter developed a compromise proposal for the more than 2.5 million employees.
Employers and unions will go into the crucial round in the collective bargaining dispute for the public service of the federal government and municipalities on Saturday. The basis is the recommendation of the Schlichter Roland Koch (CDU) and Henning Lühr (SPD) for a two -stage tariff increase. The tariff parties now advise (from 9.30 a.m.) whether they accept the proposal, if necessary with changes. If there is no agreement, the unions could initiate a pre -vote on permanent strikes.
More flexible working hours and higher layer allowances required
It is about more than 2.5 million employees in important jobs not only in administration, but also in daycare centers or nursing facilities, in garbage disposal or at airports. According to the arbitrator’s proposal, the income should increase by three percent on April 1, 2025, but at least 110 euros a month. As of May 1, 2026, there should be another 2.8 percent more. Part of the proposal are also more flexible working hours and higher layer allowances.
The unions Verdi and DBB civil servants had originally demanded significantly more. This was too expensive for the association of local employers’ associations VKA and the Federal Ministry of the Interior. The negotiations were declared failed in mid -March and the arbitration was initiated. There is currently a break.
