Trump rejects the duties with Netanyahu at meetings with Netanyahu
The stock exchanges are under pressure because of the US tariffs worldwide, but President Trump wants to stay hard. In addition to the tariffs, he also accuses the EU and names a strange test.
Despite the descent of the stock exchanges, US President Donald Trump refused to suspend the tariffs. “Well, we don’t plan to do that,” Trump said to a question in the White House. Previously, representatives of the White House had already described corresponding speculations about the exposure of the tariffs as fake news.
There are many countries who wanted to negotiate with the United States, Trump said at a reception for the Israeli head of government Benjamin Netanyahu. He called the Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba with whom he spoke in the morning.
Trump reproached EU again
He accused the EU not only to isolate its auto industry with customs duties, but with requirements and rules. They were created to block the import of American cars. As an example, he cited a test in which a ball of 6 meters is dropped onto a car, and if it has a dent, it should not be sold to the EU. A German car would also get a dent in such a test.
Trump spoke of non-monetary barriers with which the EU isolate. The EU build barriers that are so strict that it is impossible to fulfill them. Experts, on the other hand, had stated that no trade barriers or tariffs were to blame for the weak performance of the US carmakers in Europe, but their models.
China “greatest culprit”
The US President confirmed his announcement from the morning that he would take China with further tariffs of another 50 percent. He reacted to Beijings announced counter -tariffs of 34 percent. Trump emphasized that he had a great relationship with President Xi Jinping and hope that it would stay that way. “I have great respect for China, but you can’t just do it.” In a post, Trump had previously described China as the “greatest culprit”.
Trump’s course ensures uncertainty worldwide. The markets are under massive pressure.
