Large differences are visible in the overall German salary comparison. Last year, however, there was a significant surcharge for most.

The full -time employees in Germany achieved average annual earnings of 52,159 euros in Germany last year. This means that half of the employees, including the special payments, earned this amount or more, while the other half received less, as the Federal Statistical Office explains.

The average earnings of full -time employees were 62,235 euros last year. However, it is distorted by very high salaries of a small group. The top percent of the employees achieved gross annual earnings of at least 213,286 euros. The lowest ten percent have to cope with 32,526 euros or less.

The values ​​for average and medium -sized earnings have increased by 5.3 percent compared to the previous year. The Federal Office already estimated the increase in nominal wages of all employees in February with 5.4 percent. After deducting the inflation, real wages rose by 3.1 percent last year. This compensated for part of the loss of purchasing strength from the high inflation years before.
