Audi sells more electric cars – paragraph overall tough

Practically all major markets are affected by the drop in sales – only one ran against the trend.

Audi sold fewer cars again in the first quarter, but at least with electric cars it goes up significantly. The deliveries worldwide dropped 3.4 percent to 383,401 vehicles. The decline concerned most of the major markets in China with 7 percent to 144,471 cars. Here Audi suffers from an “intensive competitive situation on site”.

In North America – without Mexico – the decline at 2.1 percent to 48,599 was rather low, but in the second quarter, this could look different in view of the tariffs that are now applicable. In Europe – without Germany – it was a bit higher at 3 percent to 112,707 cars. In contrast, Audi was able to increase 4.8 percent to 48,447 in the home market.

Almost a third more electricity

In contrast, electromobility at Audi developed against the trend. In pure streamers, deliveries rose 30 percent to 46,371. It is now noticeable here that Audi has new models in the market. The most important market for electric cars was Europe. Including Germany, the continent made up almost three quarters of the deliveries here.

Overall, Audi 2025 wants to increase sales according to previous statements. New models should also help. In 2024, the group belonging to Volkswagen had to accept significant losses in sales, sales and profit. In March, Audi therefore announced the reduction of up to 7,500 jobs.
