Volkswagen starts the new year with sales flow

Lightblows for Volkswagen: After the sales flaut 2024, the sales figures go up again. Above all, a brand feels surprisingly upswing.

At Volkswagen, sales go up again after the weak in the previous year: from January to March, the group delivered a good 2.1 million vehicles of all group brands from January to March, 1.4 percent more than in the same period of the previous year, as the Wolfsburgers said. VW had a minus of 2.3 percent throughout the previous year.

Above all, the previously weakening car brand VW made soil well. The core brand, which more than half of all sales are elevated, in the first quarter by a good 5 percent, it went up to a good 1.1 million vehicles. In the case of Audi, however, global deliveries decreased by 3.4 percent to around 383,400 vehicles, and at Porsche by almost eight percent to 71,500.

It went well across the group in China, where VW still delivered 644,000 cars, a good seven percent less than a year ago. Increases in the rest of the world were more than able to compensate for this. In Europe it was 3.7 percent. In the United States, sales even attracted 6.2 percent. Experts see it in this way because of the new car tariffs by US President Donald Trump, who have been in effect since the beginning of April.

There were significant growth in electric cars: 216,800 pure Stromer of all group brands were delivered worldwide in the three months, almost 60 percent more than a year ago. In Europe, the number has even more than doubled compared to the weak first quarter of 2024, to 158,000 vehicles.
