The crude oil price has broken down after Donald Trump’s customs announcements. But so far the fuel prices have hardly given in. The ADAC calls for the oil corporations to catch up quickly.
The worldwide crash of crude oil prices after the customs announcements by US President Donald Trump has so far hardly been noticeable at the German petrol stations. Within a week, Super gasoline of the E10 was only reduced by 1.4 cents, as the ADAC reports. In the nationwide daily average of Tuesday, it cost 1.689 euros per liter. Diesel was reduced by 1.1 cents to 1.591 euros.
According to ADAC, the crude oil prices had given up by around $ 12. The oil price is typically the most important driver for fluctuations in the fuel prices. The changes cannot be converted exactly because other factors also play a role, but the decline by a little more than one cent for fuel prices is much lower than what experience has shown.
The oil prices have forced their descent after the US customs package came into force and have fallen to the lowest level since 2021. A barrel (159 liters) of the North Sea variety Brent for delivery in June dagged around four percent and $ 2.42 to $ 60.40 on Wednesday. At noon, the course for the first time since February 2021 fell less than $ 60.
The ADAC also sees the reason for a decline of several cents. He criticizes that the fuel prices have not fallen stronger and expected “that the mineral oil companies are now passing the price advantage over to drivers quickly due to the lower oil prices”.
As a further argument for falling fuel prices at German petrol stations, the ADAC leads the re -strengthened euro. Since crude oil is traded in dollars, it reduces the purchase of the raw material.
