Liquid gas drive and water saving concept
It is the fourth ship of a series that builds the Emsland company for Carnival Cruise Lines. The “Carnival Festival” is powered with liquid gas. The ship will also realize a new water savings concept, said the President of Carnival Cruise Line, Christine Duffy, according to the press release.
According to the company, the order book of the shipyard is filled until 2031, including converter platforms for offshore wind turbines and a research ship.
Nevertheless, the shipyard fell into financial hardship last year. With a rescue package, around 80 percent of the shares took over with a rescue package for 400 million euros. They also grant the company of around one billion euros each to secure banks loans.
