Jack Wolfskin is sold to Chinese group

Jack Wolfskin most recently had a golf supplier from California as the owner. This now wants to concentrate on the core business – and continues to sell the brand from Hessen.

The German outdoor specialist Jack Wolfskin gets a new owner from China. The previous owner Topgolf Callaway from California sells Jack Wolfskin to the Anta Sports group, which already includes brands such as Wilson and Salomon.

Topgolf Callaway put the purchase price at $ 290 million. The US group wants to focus on its core business as a golf supplier, said company boss Chip Brewer. Topgolf Callaway took over Jack Wolfskin for 418 million euros in early 2019.

Topgolf Callaway from Jack Wolfskin, based in Idstein in Hesse, expected a contribution contribution of 325 million euros and a result before interest, taxes and depreciation (EBITDA) of 12 million euros. Last year Topgolf Callaway mentioned the shrinking of Jack Wolfskin’s European business as a reason for the group’s decline in sales due to weak market conditions.
