Izvestia found 26 exchangers where you can get rubles for bitcoins, and tried to carry out such an operation, and also talked to those who successfully rotate in this rather closed world of digital currencies.
It is noted that such points operate not only in Moscow: other cities where platforms are ready to give out cash for a crypt include St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Sochi, etc.
As Izvestiya was told in the press service of the Bank of Russia, the organization of the issuance and circulation of digital currencies in the country has not yet been regulated by law. Therefore, crypto exchangers, crypto exchanges, P2P platforms and other operators of this market are outside the legal field. At the same time, the CFA law prohibits the use of digital currencies as a means of payment. The Ministry of Internal Affairs also emphasized that the circulation of cryptocurrencies is currently regulated only by this federal law.
As Elena Avakyan, Adviser of the EPAM Law Office, noted, there are no clear sanctions for exchanging cryptocurrencies for cash, so it cannot be fully called “illegal”, but it is in a gray zone and is not quite legal for both crypto exchangers and citizens.
According to experts, transactions for the cashing out of digital assets in the country reach about $80 billion a year, but now this entire area is in a gray zone.
The government will present draft scenarios for the regulation of cryptocurrencies on February 11.
