CAF strengthens its role as the engine of regional development at the IX CELAC Summit

With a strong institutional presence and new strategic projects, the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean reaffirmed its commitment to regional integration and sustainable development.

CAF – development of Latin America and the Caribbean – participated in the IX Summit of Heads and Heads of State and Government of the CELAC, held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. “CAF has become the most important regional public good on the continent. Our recent capitalization allows us to boost strategic projects that strengthen regional integration. In an uncertain world, CAF is the bridge that connects the shores of sustainable development in Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Asinelli during his participation in Tegucigalpa.

The institution also highlighted its collaboration with the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC)with the aim of financing projects in digitalization, infrastructure, energy transition and advance in the creation of a Regional Fund for Adaptation to Climate Change and the response to natural disasters.

CAF actively accompanied CELAC during pro tempore presidencies Argentina, San Vicente and the Grenadines and Hondurasand will continue working with Colombia and Uruguay In the next periods. During his visit to Honduras, Asinelli also participated in the launch of the project “Violence prevention through citizen youth activation, art and sport”together with the Secretary of Education, Daniel Sponda, and the Foundation Scholas occur. This initiative will benefit 500 adolescents between 15 and 17 years, and will train 75 teachers To accompany processes of active citizenship, art and sport.

In recognition of your work, the Secretariat of Education of Honduras gave Asinelli the Order Morazánfor its commitment to education and sustainable development in the region.
