Why should you dye jeans?
There are many good reasons to color jeans. Maybe after many washes, it is simply not as strong as it used to be – especially dark colors like black or indigo tend to fade over time. Or you want to give an old model a new shine, refresh it or design it individually (e.g. with ). Jeans coloring is also sustainable: Instead of buying a new piece of clothing, give a new life to a new life – this saves resources and protects the environment. What is needed to dye jeans?
You need only a few, but specifically selected utensils to color your jeans:

4. Washing machine or alternatively a large bucket
Most textile colors are designed for use in the washing machine – comfortable and clean. If you prefer to color by hand, you can do that in a large bucket or one do.
Step by step: How to color your jeans correctly
Preparation: Wash the jeans thoroughly without fabric softener to remove dust, dirt and any impregnations. So the color can penetrate the fibers better.
Color selection & dosage: Select the desired color. Remember: blue jeans that is colored with red does not result in a pure red, but rather a purple tone. In order to achieve the most pure color result, you should use or decolorize it beforehand (e.g. with ).
Coloring in the washing machine: Place the moist jeans in the drum. Add the textile color (depending on the brand as a capsule or in combination with fixer). Start a normal washing program at 40 ° C. After coloring, wash with detergent again to remove excess color.
Hand coloring (alternative): Fill a large bucket with hot water, add the textile color and stir well. Put the jeans in and move them regularly so that the color is picked up evenly. Rinse thoroughly after the recommended exposure time and wash it off with detergent.
Dry: It is best to dry in the air – please not in the dryer, as heat can influence the color.
Coloring jeans is not only an easy way to refresh clothes, but also a creative project with a visible success.
