The Ministry of Economics named the main factors of economic growth in 2022

In favor of GDP growth in 2022, the easing of restrictions on oil production within the framework of OPEC +, high profits of exporters in 2021 and support for the effective demand of the population will play, said Polina Kryuchkova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, in an interview with Izvestia. She attributed the world conjuncture and external markets to the risks for economic growth.

“A famous example is the global semiconductor crisis and its impact on the automotive industry. How long will such a crisis last? It’s not the only one, there are a lot of failures in the supply chain, this one is simply the most famous, most clearly hitting the consumer market,” the Deputy Minister stated.

How quickly such crises will resolve and whether new disruptions will arise on a global scale will affect economic growth in the world as a whole, and in Russia in particular, Polina Kryuchkova noted. She also called high global inflation and tightening of monetary policies by world central banks as risks for GDP growth.

At the same time, the deputy minister stressed that the tightening of monetary policies would restrain price increases.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, economic growth in 2022 will be 3%.
