Since mid-February there have been considerable restrictions in the basement of the capital city station. So is now over.
After months of restrictions, the lower level at Berlin’s main train station is completely open again. All eight tracks would be used again, said a spokeswoman for Deutsche Bahn on Tuesday morning.
Additional switches and signals had been installed in the underground station since mid -February. Therefore, only four of the eight tracks were usually open. On the Easter weekend and on a weekend in March, all eight tracks were tight.
The new course should ensure that trains can switch to the neighboring track, for example, with an occupied track. With the new so -called “tensile cover signals”, two trains should be able to hold on a platform in the future. According to the train, more trains can be handled and long trains can be shared if necessary. The train had recently announced that the work was on schedule.
