Trump wants to set tariffs in the next two to three weeks

According to the government, the United States negotiates with many countries in the trade conflict. They are in contact with China every day, says President Trump. He also calls a new period.

In the international trade conflict, US President Donald Trump has announced that it will set tariffs in the next two to three weeks if he sees no progress in the talks. “If we have no agreement with a company or a country, we will set customs. We simply set the customs,” Trump said when signing several decrees about the education system in Washington. That will happen in the next few weeks, Trump said. This could also apply to China, said the President. Perhaps there is a special agreement for China.

According to Trump, the USA and China are in daily contact. When asked by a journalist whether there was any direct contact with China in the trade conflict, Trump replied: “Yes, of course. And every day, every day.”

Trump had escalated the trade conflict in early April by raising special tariffs against numerous countries. Later he ordered a 90-day break of the serves. Special tariffs of up to 145 percent still apply only on products from China. In return, Beijing raised tariffs of 125 percent on goods from the United States.
