Work less? These people tell why they don’t want that








More and more people seem to look for a way to reduce their working hours. Constant pressure, endless meetings – the abundance of tasks leads to chronic stress. Many people therefore want to slow down their lives to improve their mental and physical well -being. They want more free time to pursue their interests, spend more time with the family or just to recover.

On the other hand, there are also people for work that is not “broke acquisition”, but also self -realization. They see increased working hours as an opportunity to improve their skills and pursue passions. Three of these people have their say here.

Noam zur is a conductor, lives in the Ruhr area, but is primarily internationally active. His motivation to work: he wants to be excellent in his work.

I came to a family of musicians and learned trombone and piano as a child. As a teenager, I put myself out of an impulse to the conductor during an orchestra test and simply tried it out. That worked surprisingly well and the other orchestra members came to me afterwards and said I should deepen it. When I came home that day, I said to my father: “I’m becoming a conductor.” At first he was not exactly enthusiastic, but my parents supported me a lot.
