They are said to have sold the copper manufacturer Aurubi’s scrap at excessive prices and have cheated it by many millions. Three men have to go to prison for many years.
In the fraud process around manipulated scrap at the Hamburg copper manufacturer Aurubis, the district court sentenced the three defendants to some long -term prison terms. A former material examiner was formerly sentenced to six years in prison for fraud, bribery and tax evasion, as the judge announced in his judgment.
A scrap dealer was sentenced to five and two and a half years in prison. The judge largely followed the public prosecutor’s demands. The defenders had asked for an acquittal.
Jug manipulated with gold and silver powder
According to the public prosecutor, the accused had sold scrap at excessive prices between April 2012 and August 2016. The material tester is said to have manipulated samples by sprinkling gold and silver powder over it. In return, he received more than 100,000 euros and two gold bars from the scrap dealer.
