US President Trump has suspended part of his tariffs for 90 days. Does he still hold on to his course to take importers with high taxes? SAP boss Klein reports on contacts with Trump.
The SAP CEO Christian Klein expressed a positive statement about meetings with US President Donald Trump. As a member of a group of corporate bosses, he experienced Trump in confidential round, said the head of the German software company in the magazine “Der Spiegel”. “It was a constructive exchange. And it is definitely the case that he listens and gives feedback,” said Klein.
There is “a round table of selected, especially American CEOs. I am sitting with me because SAP plays a critical role in the economy and the public administration in the USA. There is a close exchange that I would also like to be more intensive in Europe.”
The trade conflict with the rest of the world, which Trump, is still worried about the SAP boss. “We see how our customers have to fight with it and the uncertainty is great,” said Klein. His group, on the other hand, benefits from the situation in that the SAP software helps corporate customers to “manage customs costs, make supply chains more resistant, in logistics. But he hoped for fewer tariffs for everyone.
