Solar expansion worldwide – Germany under top 5
The renovation of the German energy supply is progressing. The Federal Association of Solar Economy expects that nothing will change either this year.
The worldwide expansion of solar energy will continue from the industrial point of view this year. So far, despite its comparatively small area, Germany is internationally in the top group, as the Federal Association of Solar Economics announced before the Intersolar industry fair in Munich. Accordingly, the addition of new solar systems could exceed the threshold of 600 gigawatts of power worldwide – about twice as much as in 2022.
With the overall performance previously installed, Germany was fourth in fourth place behind three much larger countries last year: China, the USA and India. Last year, the solar power performance installed in Germany, according to the Federal Association, rose by strong 14 percent and 17.5 gigawatts. The Federal Association plans to publish a detailed assessment in the morning.
