Money policy: Trump insults Fed boss after decision as a fool

US President Trump is not satisfied with the latest decision by the central bank. In a post, he attacks Fed boss Powell again.

U.S. President Donald Trump has insulted Fed boss Jerome Powell as a fool after the decision of the US Federal Reserve. “Jerome Powell is a fool who has no idea,” wrote Trump on his Truth Social platform. He had attacked Powell several times in the past and described it as a “loose” or “Mr. too late”.

The FED had gone on a collision course the day before, who vehemently demands interest reductions. In view of Trump’s aggressive customs policy, she had been waiting for it and does not want to commit herself to soon -scale interest rate cuts. “We have to wait and see how the situation develops,” said Fed boss Powell when asked by a reporter whether the central bank should reduce interest this year. The FED left the key interest rate at a high level of 4.25 to 4.5 percent.
