Microsoft strokes thousands of jobs
Like other tech companies, Microsoft has massively built up areas in corona pandemic. Now thousands of jobs should be lost.
The software giant Microsoft covers several thousand jobs. The cuts are said to meet less than three percent of the workforce, as the company announced. An exact number was not mentioned. At the end of June 2024, Microsoft had around 228,000 employees at the end of June 2024, including 126,000 in the United States. Three percent of them would be around 6,800 jobs.
The dismantling is planned across various regions and employee levels, a spokesman told the Bloomberg financial service. Microsoft had already deleted around 10,000 jobs in early 2023. The workforce in Corona pandemic was grown sharply in large tech companies.
Microsoft is investing in a large scale in data centers for artificial intelligence. In the financial year, which is still running until the end of June, expenditure of around $ 80 billion is planned for this.
