Allianz is one of the crisis gifts in the long economic flaut. Natural disasters have not yet affected the record results of the Munich Group.
Allianz resists both natural disasters and the weak global economy: in the first quarter, sales in the insurance business and in asset management grew by almost 12 percent to 54 billion euros, as the Munich Dax group announced. The net profit, which is due to the shareholders, fell by two percent to a good 2.4 billion euros, but this was due to a large tax provision for the sale of the alliance share at a joint venture in India.
Expensive natural disasters and weak dollars
The high damage caused by natural disasters did not pass the alliance: they added up to 398 million euros, more than six times as much as in the first quarter of 2024.
The economic uncertainty associated with the customs threats of the US government is also reflected in the business figure of the largest German insurer: Investors of the Allianz familiar in asset management net more than a year earlier than a year earlier. However, the total amount of the assets managed for customers fell slightly to 1.9 trillion euros, a consequence of the weak dollar. In asset management, the US business with the local subsidiary Pimco is of great importance for alliance.
CEO Oliver Bäte sees the group to his goal of an operational profit of 15 to 17 billion this year, in the first quarter it was 4.2 billion.
