British government announces new agreements with EU

Five years have passed since Brexit. Now London is based on a restart with the European Union. Both trade relationships and limits play a role.

Shortly before a meeting with EU top representatives in London in the coming week, the British government has announced a new agreement with Brussels. Already on this Sunday, Prime Minister Keir Strander will explain how a “strengthened, future -oriented partnership with the European Union”, the British employees will benefit, the government said in London. The new agreement promises good for growth and jobs.

“Because the British public deserves something better than the agreement achieved under the previous government that nobody uses,” says the message – in allusion to the Brexit Agreement. Great Britain had left the European Union five years ago and continues to suffer economically from the consequences.

Prime Minister Strander welcomes EU Council President António Costa and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on Monday. Among other things, the two sides want to strengthen their trade relationships. The deal will use British producers who were confronted with bureaucratic hurdles and controls when exporting. Prices should also fall for British consumers. Britain had recently also agreed trade agreements with India and the USA.

According to a report by the “Times”, a new agreement could also contain a youth exchange program (Youth Mobility Scheme) that should allow young people from the EU to work in Great Britain for up to two years and vice versa – but without reintroduction.

“During this time great uncertainty and inconsistency, the United Kingdom will not withdraw in itself, but proudly take its place on the world stage by strengthening its alliances and concluding deals in the interests of the British population,” said Starmer according to the announcement.
