The procedure in the gastronomic premises of Puerto Madero lasted throughout the day on Friday and the AFIP inspectors compared the externalized income in previous months, in order to detect possible deviations in the sales reported in their affidavits.

The agency noted that “it was found that the sales under control were significantly higher than those declared, after comparing what was recorded on the day of the operation and the daily average of the last few months. In some places, the inconsistencies exceeded 200% with respect to what was declared, and the establishments that presented the greatest deviations will be incorporated into the control process of the agency”.

Of the 139 workers relieved, various irregularities were detected, among which it is worth noting that almost 25% of the verified personnel were unregistered.

At the same time, the AFIP said that “Throughout the summer season and in the main tourist centers of the country, a set of coordinated actions were developed to prevent and detect possible tax evasion maneuvers.”

“More than 200 inspectors from all over the country participated in the different face-to-face control and inspection tasks carried out on restaurants, shopping centers, spas, breweries, hotels and nautical nurseries. During the operations, not only is the correct invoicing and determination of taxes verified, but compliance with the rights of the workers is also analyzed, as well as the payment of obligations related to contributions and social security contributions,” the agency remarked.

The AFIP emphasized that “The main objective is the early detection of breaches of billing and social security regulations, applying the corresponding sanctions in accordance with current regulations.”

These coordinated actions between the General Tax Directorate and the General Directorate of Social Security Resources are intended to protect the rights of male and female workers, generating labor inclusion, and at the same time a greater perception of risk among employers, inducing them to comply with current regulations.
