Politicians and human rights activists react horrified to a hate poster that was seen yesterday evening in Berlin-Mitte near the Humboldt University. You could see a portrait of Yaron Lischinsky, employee of the Israeli embassy in Washington DC, who fell victim to an attack there with his partner on Wednesday evening. Alexander Freier-Winterwerb, member of the SPD parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives, said that the poster was “symbolic of an unleashed, deadly Jewish hatred in the middle of Germany”. This threat would address all Jews and their supporters. “Anyone who tolerates something like this, trivialized or in silence makes you complicit!”
According to the T-Online, the German ambassador in Israel, Steffen Seibert, “indescribably disgusting. Anyone who has hung up has lost every right to speak for the cause of human rights. Just like everyone who goes for it and considers it acceptable.”
Criticism also of Palestinians
Palestinians also published harsh criticism of the poster. John Aziz, British-Palestinian peace activist, wrote down on X.: “This hatred and violence against Zionists do not reflect on me as a Palestinian, and I will never approved it. I want violence to end and hatred. I want to peace with Israel and all other people.” The Palestinian political scientist Ihab Hassan called the poster “disgusting”.
