Cornflakes, “Froot Loops”, “Smacks”: The Kellogg’s classics were not available in Rewe markets for a long time. That should change soon. Edeka will also be offering the breakfast cereals again soon.
Rewe customers will soon be able to find Kellogg’s breakfast products on the supermarket shelves. The food retailer, like EDEKA, has settled his long-lasting price dispute with the US manufacturer Kellanova. This was learned by the German press agency from Rewe corporate circles. Both sides have therefore agreed.
The dispute broke out in 2022. The Kellogg’s products such as “Froot Loops”, “Smacks”, “Frosties” and “Choco Crisis”, “Frosties” and “Choco Crisis”, which are popular with many customers, have therefore not been available from Rewe for about two and a half years. It is still unclear when you will return to the supermarkets.
Rewe did not want to comment on details on request. The “Food Newspaper” had previously reported.
Important brand for food dealers
REWE applicant EDEKA had also disputed Kellanova about price increases in 2023, and the US company then stopped supplying. According to Edeka from 2023, the Kellogg’s manufacturer wanted to increase prices by up to 45 percent at the time. That was too much Edeka.
Both companies had recently ended their dispute. From mid-June, the articles should be available again in the Edeka supermarkets and net branches, as Edeka and Kellanova explained. How much more expensive you will be compared to the time before the delivery stop was not announced.
The Kellogg’s products are considered a strong brand that many people absolutely want. If you are not buying, supermarkets have to fear that customers migrate and do their entire weekly shopping elsewhere.
