The list of neighborhoods that will lose light and gas subsidies

The decision was formalized on Monday with the publication of the 1/2025 disposition of the Undersecretariat of Energy Transition and Planning In the Official Gazette. The resolution establishes a New georeferencing methodology to purify the registration of access to energy subsidies (RASE) and thus reconfigure the register of beneficiaries.

As explained by the Ministry of Economy, the objective is to correct the cases of users who, although registered as average or low income, live in closed neighborhoods or premium areas such as Puerto Madero. The measure was based on the argument that these situations are incompatible with the segmentation criteria based on the real contributory capacity of each home.

To carry out this reconfiguration, the Government crossed data from the electrical supplies with georeferenced records, satellite images, patrons of the ENRE and cadastral bases. Thus they identified 439 CLOSED URBANIZATIONS In the north, west and south of Buenos Aires, in addition to the residential properties in Puerto Madero (except the Popular Barrio Rodrigo Bueno), whose users will lose the benefit.

The identified households will be automatically recategorized to level 1 (higher income)which implies that they will stop receiving subsidies in light and gas rates. However, those who consider that their situation was poorly classified may request a review through the system Distance Procedures (TAD)providing documentation that justifies its inclusion in the subsidy regime.
