1. ventilate properly and let down sun protection

2. Air is not just air

If there is a ventilation system in your office, use it. The following also applies here: windows too. The idea that the temperatures are pulling through is not right here. With the window open, only bring the heat into the house.

3. Go to work earlier

If you have a working time account, you can simply get to the office earlier if the temperatures are still bearable. Some bosses even react so accommodating that they send employees home earlier and have the hours later reworked.

4. Choose the right clothing in the heat

At such high temperatures it depends on the right clothing. Linen or cotton fabrics are optimal. Beware of polyester, in such fibers you usually sweat even more. The clothes should sit a little more loosely.

5. Use the fan correctly

Yes, the air -flaw is a pleasant help. But: If the fan blows the cool air directly into the face, you quickly get a summer cold. In addition, the cold air can also cause headaches. Better: align the fan on the upper body.

6. Cooling the body

If the body is heated up, moist cloths can be relief. Wrap them around ankles and wrists. If you are uncomfortable in the office, you can also hold your hands under the cold tap. Even a moist, cool cloth in the neck looks real miracles.

7. Water for the feet

A particularly pleasant cooling: place a tub with water under your desk. Feet in – wonderful. If this is not permitted, as an alternative, simply take cool packs and put your feet on it. That also helps a lot.

8. Drink – but please the right one

You should drink a lot in the heat, yes. This is an old hat. Nevertheless, we are forgetting that in the office. Two to three liters should be at least in the heat. Better than coffee is tea that you can also drink cold. A little tip: You lose minerals by sweating. Sold the tea lightly and drink it cool. Very refreshing!

9. Don’t overwhelm yourself

The nights are too warm, the heat paralyzes during the day: if you are currently feeling limp, you are not alone. Do not overexert yourself. Treat yourself to short interruptions from work more often.

10. Don’t eat too much

Eating is also important in the heat. Eat light meals. A salad is optimal or fresh fruit. The more rich the dishes, the tired we become of the food.

Good news at the end: people are more productive in warmth than in the cold. The US researcher Alan Hedge from Cornell University found this out. He had an employee of an insurance company in Florida working at a room temperature of 20 degrees. The result: the error rate was 25 percent. Then he turned the heating up. At 25 degrees, the error rate was only 10 percent.
