The train abolishes the family reservation. The much criticized change will apply from this Sunday. Other measures also take effect – not all of the passengers should be annoyed.
From this Sunday, parents can no longer reserve any number of seats for themselves and the children at long -distance trips by train from this Sunday. Deutsche Bahn has abolished the so -called family reservation with the small timetable change. If you want to reserve places, you have to pay each one of them individually per family member.
In addition, the railway increases the price of space reservations in the 2nd class by 30 cents to 5.50 euros per seat. In the 1st class, the reservations now cost 6.90 euros instead of 6.50 euros as before. For a family of four, the reservations will cost twice as much in the future.
Criticism and outrage for abolition
The abolition of family reservations has led to numerous outraged reactions and criticism of politics and associations in the past few days. The ecological traffic club Germany (VCD) even started a petition to prevent the project. A spokesman for the Ministry of Transport also revealed doubts from the federal government on Friday.
The federal group still stated. He points out that children up to and including 14 years accompanied by adults do not have to pay anything for train tickets.
With the change of timetable on Sunday, some regulations come into force that are positive for passengers. Flex price tickets can be canceled free of charge up to a day before the first day of validity. In addition, some discounts have started.
