Collection against Vodafone cracks 100,000 brands

Millions of Vodafone customers have been paying five euros more a month since 2023. On the other hand, consumer advocates complain and call those affected to join. The response is great.

The class action against the telecommunications provider Vodafone is of great interest. According to the Federal Consumer Center (VZBV), more than 100,000 people have already entered the Federal Office of Justice.

Vodafone had increased the prices for landline internet by 5 euros per month in 2023. Controlled contracts of around 10 million customers were affected. According to consumer advocates, the price increases were illegal.

The VZBV therefore filed a lawsuit at the Higher Regional Court (OLG) Hamm. The association demands that Vodafone will reimburse the price difference to the affected customers. The company justified the increase with higher costs and rejects the allegations.

Entry in plaque registers possible by the end of 2025

The hearing will take place on December 3, 2025 at the OLG Hamm. If it remains with this one appointment, consumers can join the lawsuit until December 24 of this year. On the website www.sammelklagen.de/verfahren/vodafone, vodafone customers learn whether they can participate.

The procedure at the OLG Hamm (I -12 VKL 1/23) is one of the first cases that refers to a new federal law – it is a sharper sword for consumers. At the end of the legal dispute, Vodafone customers could get money back directly without having to move to court themselves.
