The Swiss bank projects that over the next five years the average per capita wealth will continue to grow, led by the United States and, to a lesser extent, the Great China.
Wealth grew disproportionately fast last year in the United States, where more than 379,000 people became new millionaires in US dollars, more than 1,000 a dayshowed a report published on Wednesday.

The net assets of natural persons increased 4.6% worldwide and more than 11% in America, driven by the stability of the US dollar and the optimism of financial markets, according to the Global 2025 Global Richness Report of UBS. The United States represented almost 40% of world millionaires in 2024.


In 2023, Europe, the Middle East and Africa led a rebound in world wealth after a decrease in 2022.
The Great China – which the report defines as Continental China, Hong Kong and Taiwan – headed last year the list of individuals with a net worth of 100,000 to 1 million dollars, representing 28.2%, followed by Western Europe with 25.4%and North America with 20.9%.
However, most people worldwide were below that threshold, since more than 80 % of adults in the UBS sample had a net worth of less than $ 100,000. In general, around 1.6 % registered a net worth of 1 million dollars or more, according to the report.
