Prince William confirms his first trip to Brazil for autumn at a climate event in London. Will Princess Kate accompany him?
Prince William (43) officially confirmed his first trip to Brazil on Tuesday during a performance in London. During the “Leading with Impact” event as part of the current London Climate Action Week, the British heir to the throne announced that he would fly to Rio de Janeiro this autumn to give the Earthshot Prize.
“I look forward to traveling to Brazil for the first time this autumn,” said William British media reports in front of the climate protection experts, philanthropes and business people present. The ceremony of his environmental award will take place this year in the Museu do Amanhã in Rio de Janeiro.
Workshop with the finalists
Before William made his Brazil announcement, he took time for the Earthshot Prize finalists. In a workshop, the prince learned first-hand what progress the environmental innovators made last year. Michael Bloomberg (83), businessman and former mayor of New York City, personally welcomed William to the event.
The Earthshot Prize, launched by William 2020, is one of King Charles III’s son’s heart. (76). Each of the five annual winners receives one million pounds (approx. 1.2 million euros) to advance their climate projects. Also this year William was able to win well -known ambassadors for his environmental award. These include Hollywood star Cate Blanchett, Model Heidi Klum, Brazil’s football legend Cafu or ex-English captain David Beckham.
The election of Brazil as a host country is anything but accidental. The ceremony takes place shortly before the UN climate summit COP30, which will also be held in Brazil in November. After London, Boston, Singapore and Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro is the first South American city to organize the event.
Does Princess Kate William accompany to Brazil?
After the confirmation of William, the British media concerns one question: Will Princess Kate (43) accompany him to Brazil? According to observers, the notes are currently speaking against it. In view of their current gradual return to their royal duties after their cancer, a long -distance trip to South America seems unlikely.
