Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness: Divorce is officially sealed

After almost three decades of marriage, everything is now legally over: Hugh Jackman (56) and Deborra-Lee Furness (69) are officially divorced. As online court records of the Suffolk County Supreme Court show, the divorce judgment was already felled on June 12th and uploaded on the corresponding website on June 23. The case is considered “done”.

FURNESS had applied for the divorce on May 27 – almost two years after the couple announced their mutual separation for the first time in September 2023. The divorce documents indicated that the conditions were undisputed and only needed the signature of a judge.

At that time, furness found moving words for their situation. “My heart and sympathy apply to everyone who went through the traumatic journey of betrayal” ,. “It is a deep wound that cuts deeply, but I believe in a higher power and that God or the universe, whatever you consider as your leadership, always works for us.”

This conviction helped her “to cope with the collapse of an almost three decades of marriage,” continued the 69-year-old. “I gained a lot of knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even if we are apparently confronted with adversity, it leads us to our greatest well -being, our true purpose.”

Jackman and Furness, the two adult children – daughter Ava and son Oscar – married in 1996. After 27 years of marriage, they then announced their separation in a common statement: “Our family was and will always be our highest priority. We start this next chapter with gratitude, love and friendliness.”

Divorce is about four months after Jackman made his relationship with colleague Sutton Foster (50) public. The actress was his co-star in Broadway production “The Music Man” in 20222. Foster also submitted the divorce from her ex-husband, screenwriter Ted Griffin (54) in October 2024-after ten years of marriage.
