His victory in Wimbledon made Boris Becker an idol of a nation in 1985. On the occasion of the 40th anniversary, we are reminiscent of his moving life.
Boris Becker was the first German to win Wimbledon’s tennis tournament in July 1985. The Leimener was 17 years old at the time-he is still the youngest Wimbledon winner of all time. Two more titles followed on the “holy lawn”. Becker made a tennis boom with his victories and his way of playing in Germany. The “Becker Faust” or the “Becker Hecht” are still unforgettable.
In 1999 he ended his active career. In the nineties, he made headlines with his private life. After the divorce from his first wife Barbara, he showed himself with changing partners at his side. Even as a businessman, Becker did not always show a happy hand. In 2022 he even had to go to prison due to bankruptcy offenses. Becker is now married in the third marriage and lives with his wife Lilian de Carvalho Monteiro in Milan.
