What is the fantastic 4: first steps
The film introduces Reed Richards/SR. Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/The Human Torch (Quinn) and Ben Grimm/La Mole (Moss-Bachrach) while facing their greatest challenge so far. Forced to balance their roles of heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend the land of a voracious god of space called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and its enigmatic Heralda, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’s plan to devour the entire planet and with all its inhabitants were not enough, things can be further complicated.
Shakman told Empire that he and his collaborators in the movie have “Used old lenses and adopted a film approach that feels more typical of the time”. That said, the filmmaker also pointed out: “Of course, we still have a lot of computer generated.”
While “the fantastic four” is set in his own world, Shakman admitted that he will not spend much before his characters interact with other UCM heroes. Marvel already confirmed it, including Quinn, Moss-Bachrach, Kirby and Pascal in the live announcement of the cast of Avengers: Doomsday.
The action and adventure film is also starring Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. The fantastic 4: First steps is directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige, with the executive production of Louis d’Esito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis.
The fantastic 4: First steps reaches Latin America on July 24.
