They are practically only three characters in different extreme situations. This makes “Punto Rojo” something different, and we are not only talking about Argentine cinema but about films of any nationality. Nicanor Loreti, director of the anthology “Diablo”, outdid himself with this unclassifiable black comedy that arose from a short film that the filmmaker made a bit to kill time, between two feature films that were taking time. And when the pandemic hit and the impossibility of filming a conventional feature, Loreti came up with the idea that the only way to produce something was to expand that original short film, “Pinball”, and turn it into a movie. This was possible given the small number of characters and the minimalist locations, an underground parking lot and a huge vacant lot somewhere in the suburbs.
