Marie Mouroum keeps holding her bones for world stars as a stunt woman. Your concern: as many girls as possible should learn martial arts to walk a little more.
Many people know their face from the RTL dance show “Let’s Dance”: Hollywood stunt woman Marie Mouroum. Now she has spoken out as an integral part of the curricula at German schools for martial arts.
“This could actually be a basic sport in schools,” said the 32-year-old Berliner of the German Press Agency. “In many Eastern European countries, it is also the case that this is really part of the basic base, just as we have athletics and gymnastics in sports.”
Mouroum said that mastery of a martial arts fulfills a special function, especially for girls. “I would recommend it to children in general, girls or boys, but of course it is more important for girls, because girls naturally bring this self -confidence like little boys.” Boys like to beat themselves up, wanted to get to know their strengths. That is not the case with girls.
“That does something with self -confidence”
“I think it is very important that girls are aware of their strength, know that they could defend themselves, that they could really hit if it matters.” That does something with the self -confidence, says the Berliner. “I believe that you just go a little more through the world, upwards. And a strength also radiates and maybe keeps the risk away.”
Discipline is an important point. “It is really a very, very respectful relationship in martial arts. You really learn to master yourself and your martial art, which you learn not to apply outside. This is also a very important topic.” Nevertheless, it serves to defend in an emergency.
This Saturday (June 28th) Marie Mouroum in Hamburg will be in use at the mixed martial arts event “Oktagon 73” as a backstage reporter for RTL+. She takes a look behind the scenes for the audience. The start of “Oktagon 73” is on RTL+at 5:30 p.m. In the main fight, Christian Eckerlin-Germany’s best-known MMA-Star-celebrates his comeback after eight months of break.
The stunt in the bond film – unforgettable
The 32-year-old has been in the stunt business since she was 18. Among other things, she Doued Queen Latifah in “The Equalizer” and Bond-Girl Lashana Lynch in “James Bond 007: no time to die”.
The agent film was also one of her most dangerous Stunts, she recalled. “You fly through the air from one building to another.” The agent, which she dubbed her, kidnapped a scientist in Cuba in this scene. “You really like almost like in free fall. The rope stops you shortly before the ground. And that’s really a moment when you think:” What if this rope doesn’t keep you at the last moment? “”
Injuries as a professional risk
Injuries are part of everyday work for stunt people, and Mouroum is no exception. “At” The Equalizer “I broke an ankle and torn the ligaments on the ankle.” There she jumped from a balcony on the second floor. “You jump into a kind of cardboard box that is supposed to catch the impact. These boxes should actually break.”
As an extra protection, there was also a small mat on it. “But it was so cold that this mat was almost frozen and then it was as if it were out of concrete, nothing was broken. That was not planned. I broke my ankle. I also had rib bruises. Currently.”
