Jeff Bezos: Amazon founder married Lauren Sánchez

On Friday, June 27th, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos (61) and the Emmy-winning journalist Lauren Sánchez (55) said yes in a spectacular ceremony on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice. Like that, over 200 prominent guests celebrated their luxurious Italian wedding with the couple.

The multi-day celebrations in the lagoon city attracted numerous A-List celebrities. According to information from “People”, the wedding ceremony was opened with a performance of “Can’t Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, sung by Matteo BoCelli with the cheering of the guests. Before the ceremony, Bezos and Sánchez were photographed while leaving the Aman Hotel – the bride in a retro -inspired, very white suit with a silk headscarf, the groom in an elegant black tuxedo with aviation glasses.

The couple had already arrived in Venice on Wednesday, June 25th and had organized a welcome party for his guests in a closed monastery next to the Madonna dell’orto church on Thursday evening.

The couple had originally planned to hold the wedding ceremony on Saturday, June 28th in the Scuola Grande Della Misericordia. Due to security concerns in connection with persistent local protests around the wedding, however, the event location was changed at short notice.

In order to show their appreciation towards Venice for the hospitality, Bezos and Sánchez placed particular emphasis on honoring the rich history of the city’s craft history during their wedding celebrations. According to information from “Page Six”, the couple’s three -day wedding weekend, which was organized by George and Amal Clooney’s wedding planners, cost an estimated $ 50 million.

In addition, the couple asked their guests to pay financial donations to the city of Venice instead of wedding gifts. On their wedding invitation, they listed three Venetian charity organizations to which they wanted to forward the contributions: the UNESCO office Venice, Corila and the International University of Venice.

The news about Bezos ‘and Sánchez’ relationship became known for the first time in January 2019, around the same time when the blue-in founder announced his divorce of Mackenzie Scott after 25 years of marriage. At that time, Sánchez divorced her husband Patrick Whiteell, with whom she was married for 13 years.
