Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht sits with water and supposedly bread in extradition custody. In the meantime, Lidl makes fun of the unlucky and uses the story for marketing purposes.
An open amount and a public embarrassment. Actor and reality TV star Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht made headlines last week. The 33-year-old was arrested at Hamburg Airport on Wednesday. The accusation: an unpaid hotel bill in the amount of around 14,000 euros.
The debts were created by a generously celebrated birthday party with a lot of champagne and truffles in 2021. In 2023, Ochsenknecht was even judicial to finally pay his bill, but he did not. The after -effects were now noticeable. Because the arrest warrant was enforced. Jimi Blue was caught at Hamburg Airport with an international arrest warrant and came behind grids. There he is still supposed to be and delivered to Austria.
Jimi Blue Ochsenknecht is kidnapped by discounter
The outstanding sum has now been paid by his ex-girlfriend and mother of his daughter, Yeliz Koc, but the debt thriller continues. Also because the discounter Lidl took up the situation-with a social media post that attracted attention. On Instagram, the company published a fictional receipt: seven bottles of champagne, each at a price of 17.99 euros. The ironic heading: “An invoice that Jimi could have paid.” The accompanying caption was no less clearly: “With us that would not have happened #lidllohntSich.”

The network laughs at the successful marketing gag. This is also evident in the comments: “reacts quickly and mega cool”, “Exactly my humor”, “Best promotion that he could want”, write the followers and also celebrities like Jan Leyk: “@edeka would like to have contact with your marketing department!” And Gülcan Kamps agreed: “Champagne for € 17.99?! Madness,” writes the moderator.
For Jimi Blue, the incident may have been less entertaining, but he is grateful that his ex-girlfriend jumped aside. On Instagram, Ochsenknecht thanked in a short statement for the support: “Jimi is doing well and he thanks Yeliz for selfless help in an emergency.” If he is back in freedom, he can thank a base bottle for 18 euros from the discounter.
