“Artificial” wonders what is the truth in a world scanned for the juncture and networks

“If I can’t do something with my creation, it’s as if I stopped breathing, and it’s hard to breathe,” says NORALIH GAGOauthor and director of “Artificial”, with actions of Adriana Ferrer, Coral Gabaglio, Karina Hernández and Julia Amorewhich opens Thursday at 20 in Dumont 4040.

The story of four actresses tells the day of a premiere and the creation of an unknown show even for themselves. Disoriented, they begin to create a work where real life crosses fiction. We talked with Gago

Journalist: You were a pioneer of the Cabaret Festival and reference of that genre, does this show also have cabaret?

NORALIH GAGO: It has ingredients of cabaret and many styles, it is a mixture, it is unclassifiable. He also has Brechtian theater, absurd, musical, and could list more. I am very fun for the mixture of genres.

Q.: How did the work of the role mutate on stage?

NG: In my files there are many rewriting, many versions since we started to join with part of the cast to plot this. I always sustained it as a draft from the first thing I gave them to read. Today it is called the final draft, almost an oxymoron. It will never be definitive, I will always continue working.

Q.: The question of the work revolves around the authentic in an artificial world, what do you mean by artificial, which gives name to the work?

NG: What is the truth, what is the truth, what is true, it is something that challenges me too much, with this feeling that we live scripted by what happens conjuncturally. I wonder what is true and what I don’t think, what I say, I do. Perhaps it is somewhat philosophical but it is very present in the show. Missing respect for philosophy, I propose with humor. The germ of everything was to think about that time when cast and public congregate to live a real present when they are witnessing a lie, a fiction. But it is still the most real moment of the day, in which there is no screen, that real real moment witnessing a fiction my head.

Q.: What is shown about theatrical work and scenic creation? Will artists interest more or also the general public?

NG: There are enough code and winks with the people who are dedicated to theater, there are also quotes to famous authors and there are taken from the theaterists, I would say that it is metateatral. Who knows Ionesco or Shakespeare may enjoy more of some things but is written for the reach of any spectator. It is not necessary to be an actor to have a good time, the same can happen in any field, be an actor, plumber, writer, architect, the same thing that happens to these characters can happen to you.

Q.: What is it like to do today and how do you see culture?

NG: It is very difficult, it is the most difficult. I am very happy and grateful to the qualification that we form, which is quite large, and also with rooms like nun or host that welcomed us to rehearse, they helped us a lot. I am very grateful because it is so difficult today to have this space to dedicate yourself to creating something, that we can meet in a common goal is wonderful. It is difficult because of the conjunctural, because sometimes the mood is missing. You feel in a bubble and if I read four news I can’t do anything else. In spite of that we are resisting, this time I did the dramaturgy, I direct, I produce and it is a very large effort, but it is to breathe or not to breathe. If I can’t do something with my creation, it’s as if I stop breathing, and it’s hard to breathe. There is no support, we have no subsidy of anything, everything is personal effort and costs, but being able to live, share and create is the only thing that makes sense for me at this time.
