Alfons Schuhbeck is back on trial. After his confession, the process could soon end.
The judiciary continues to deal with Alfons Schuhbeck (76). This Tuesday, the Munich I Regional Court continued the trial of the former Star chef, after he had caused a sensation a week ago with a surprising confession.
On the first day of the trial, Schuhbeck fully granted the allegations of bankruptcy privacy and fraud with Corona aids made against him. “Life led me far up and now all over again,” he said, according to media reports. In addition, he claimed “to be deeply regretted the caused damage” and to do everything in his power in order to repay the money they are entitled to.
This development could accelerate the procedure considerably because it is part of a so -called deal between all parties involved in the process.
Enforcement due to cancer uncertain
However, it remains questionable whether Schuhbeck will actually land behind bars. His current prison sentence is exposed to health reasons. Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in prison for tax evasion in October 2022. According to his lawyers, the 76-year-old suffers from incurable cancer and is medically treated outside the prison.
This is also the reason why Schuhbeck was tendoned in a quick agreement in court and his prison sentence was initially exposed to September.
