After their papers in Hit Man, Anyone But You and Twisters, Glen Powell He is flaunting his film star skills as the protagonist of the new version of The Running Man (“The survivor”) of Edgar Wright.

Based on the novel of Stephen King 1982 (which later became a 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger), “The Running Man” is developed in a dystopian society where a game program faces the contestants, called “runners”, against murderers (also known as “hunters”).

What the running man is about

According to the synopsis of the film, the runners “must survive 30 days while they are persecuted by professional murderers, with each movement transmitted to a blood thirsty for blood and every day with a greater reward in cash. Desperate for saving their sick daughter, the worker Ben Richards (Glen Powell) is convinced by the lovely but ruthless producer of the series, Dan Killian (Josh Brolin), to join the game as a last resort. But the rebellion, instincts and courage of Ben make it an unexpected favorite of fans and a threat to the entire system. As the audience indices shoot, so do the danger, and Ben must mock not only the hunters, but to an addicted nation to see him fall. ”

Wright returns to the address, contributing its usual energetic and stylized direction. In addition to Powell in the main role, The Running Man also has Colman Domingo (Sing sing) as the presenter of a contest, Bobby Thompson; Katy O’Brian (Love Lies Bleeding) as a contestant; Josh Brolin (No place for old) as the producer of the program, Dan Killian; Lee Pace (Guardians of the Galaxy) as the hunter Evan McCone; and Michael Wax Like Bradley, a rebel who helps Ben.
